Genesis Robotics Project Engineer Co-Op - Fall 2022



Genesis Robotics has a unique new opportunity for a Co-op Project Engineer looking to contribute to a truly unique business environment. You will take part in building a world-class design and manufacturing operation, producing industry disruptive robotic motion technologies. The ideal candidate will have passion for bringing ideas to life and a creative approach to problem solving and can help us expedite the commercialization of our inventive core actuation (direct drive electric motors, gears, combined actuators) technologies.

You will be supporting the technical development of new products as we scale and mature our rapidly growing portfolio. Reporting to the Project Engineering Team Lead, you will work with the project engineers who lead all technical aspects of NPI projects, ensuring project success from concept to market launch.

You will collaborate and learn from high-caliber product development and manufacturing professionals including a talented array of engineers from multiple disciplines. A great way to touch all aspects of product development, this role will give an up and coming engineer a rare opportunity to get a taste of the various roles in a design and manufacturing company.

What You Will Do In Your Role

· Support the technical team assigned to NPI projects to ensure successful execution from concept to production.

· Work in close collaboration with the design team to help with the development of project requirements, concept generation and product design from concept through to production.

· Perform tasks to help the project engineer with NPI deliverables, including creating content for design reviews and supporting documentation.

· Be hands on to support basic prototyping and testing of early concept designs. This will include 3D printing and assembly to support in rapid prototyping.

· Support the creation of drawing packages for parts, fixtures or modifications to existing parts.

· Assist in the creation of product documentation, which includes manuals, spec sheets, labels etc.

· Work in close collaboration with manufacturing and quality engineering groups to ensure feedback is incorporated in the design process.

· Support the test team to ensure test requests are defined and results are received and reported.

    The Experience You Will Bring


    · Completed minimum 2 years of bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering.

    · Strong leadership ability and the desire to take ownership of assigned tasks.

    · Familiarity with Solidworks.

    · Strong hands-on ability and comfort in a shop environment.

    · A passion for design and product development.

      What Will Put You Ahead

      · Completed minimum 3 years of bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering.

      · Experience with engineering drawings and GD&T.

      · Experience with precision components and/or rotating machines.
