Description

You will be primarily working with the electrical engineering team of the Molex Printed Circuit Solutions team. We seek engineering interns with desires to grow into a role designing both hardware and writing firmware for microcontrollers. As part of the engineering team, you will have opportunity to be exposed to both areas of design. You will be utilized as a key member of the team who assists the senior engineers in the development of products, including testing and characterizing the new designs and features. Our products generally fall into one of two categories: User Interface and Sensors. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Demonstrate the ability to provide solutions to a wide variety of electronic hardware projects & designs around the area of user interfaces and sensors. 
  • Validation of completed hardware design to ensure they meet product specifications. 
  • Test, validate and characterize new user interface and sensor products. 
  • Able to create hardware designs for small size projects under supervision of senior engineers. 
  • Collaborates well as a team member to ensure completion of project objectives. 
  • Understands how to utilize a datasheet for electrical components including ICs. 
  • Utilize corner cases and stress testing to validate product.
  • Generates reports of analysis of product testing. 
  • Repair and modify electrical assemblies with soldering equipment. 
  • Create lab mock-ups of new hardware utilizing hardware tools. 
  • Provide parametric data for datasheets and technical documents. 
  • Debug and troubleshoot microprocessor-based products with lab equipment. 
  • Familiar with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other electrical engineering lab equipment. 
  • Experience and/or strong interest in capacitive touch technology. 

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Currently Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Must be on track to graduate by May 2022 or 2023 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Microcontroller Fundamentals 
  • Familiar with basic circuit design Fundamentals 
  • Programming fundamentals C
